Math Homework includes 10 minutes each night on IXL. Homework is given Monday - Thursday. This is not a choice activitiy; it IS homework.
Unit 5 develops classification skills by observing similarities and differences of shapes and exploring spacial relationships. The three main areas of focus are:
~develop understanding of point and line segment
~identify, name, and classify polygons
~observe similarities and differences of 3D shapes
~explore symmetry
Unit 6 uses number stories to review addition and subtraction. It also extends number stories to multiplication and division. The three main areas of focus are:
~practice arrays
~practice strategies for solving addition and subtraction number stories
~develop strategies for solving multiplication and division number stories
To aid and extend the practice of these skills, your child should focus on the following tasks on IXL:
T.1 T.2 T.3 T.4 T.5 T.6
E.1 E.2 E.3 E.4 E.5 E.6 E.7 E.8 E.9 E.10 E.11 E.12 E.13 E.14
F.1 F.2 F.3 F.4 F.5 F.6 F.7 F.8 F.9 F.10 F.11
