Welcome to Second Grade!
Order books online at www.scholastic.com/bookclubs. Use our class code "HTK43" to register your own user name. Remember, everytime a parent orders online our class earns a free book! Right now you may order from the September Lucky Club catalog and two Back to School Catalogs. I will submit orders monthly when the total of orders has met the $20 minimum required by Scholastic.
The only way to get better at reading is to do it! Support the reading skills being taught at school by making reading a priority at home. Students are expected to read 20 minutes each night. Keep track of their reading on their Book It calendar and they can earn a personal pizza from Pizza Hut each month October-March.
Secrets to Success
You are your child's 1st and most important teacher! I'm excited to be the newest member on your TEAM and I promise to work hard during these 9 months to support your child and help them be successful. I am very dedicated to my work and I have high expectations for myself and my students. I want to work with you to help your child reach their STAR potential. You play a critical role in your child's educational development. Your child's view of school and learning develops long before I meet them and is shaped by where you place education on your list of priorities. Communicating the importance of school goes a long way in helping your child get off to a good start on their educational journey. With your support, I have the best opportunity to make a difference in your child's education. Together We Achieve More!
